Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide you release through burning fossils every day. When people say something uses a lot of energy they mean it release a lot of carbon dioxide. Watching TV, using the internet, travelling by car, these all involve burning fossil fuels. Too much carbon dioxide is A BAD THING because it contributes to the greenhouse effect and climate change. The larger our footprint, the more damage we’re doing to the environment. The idea behind this is to become carbon neutral. We can do this by calculating our carbon footprint and then offsetting it by doing things like growing our own fruit and veg. Offsetting is like going for a run after you eat a lot: it’ll cancel out the damage you’ve done. So from now on be sure to OFFSET YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT.
