Markham Fair is Canada’s Largest Four Day Fair. It is a great fair to represent the Agriculture in Markham. The fall fair is an opportunity for the farmers to compete by showing off the fruits they have grown. The Markham Fair is one of the few places the still care about agriculture. Markham Fair is one of Canada oldest country fairs. Since 1844 the fair has a showcase/competition for talents and products. With over 750 volunteers working on more than 75 committees, Markham Fair is the largest community based volunteer organizations in Canada. Can you believe it?
Markham Fair usually happens the weekend before Thanksgiving, and 60,000 attendees host it. Around 3,000 exhibitors enter more than 12,000 items, which will be judged and put on display during the fair. Promoting this excellent work through competition in this way, is what makes fairs unique from other events. As well as the competitive displays of the fall harvest, the community also enjoys various forms of entertainment such as horse pull, demolition derby, tractor pull, midway rides, livestock shows and displays of farm animals.
