No one’s born happy, but no one’s born unhappy either. It’s all up to us to make ourselves feel happy. We all want to be happy. We might think that if things were different, we’d be happier, but that’s not really how happiness works.
Being happy, in a way, depends on personality. Some people are just naturally cheery, optimistic and all smiles no matter what situation they are put in. We all know at least one person who maintains that positive outlook in life. Their upbeat personalities make it easier for them to be happy. Although, some people might see the faults in people and situations instead of the good. They might just ruin the happiness revolution for other people, by being grumpy and glum, but they just don’t know how to keep themselves happy.
According to case studies, researchers have found that being happy is within our control. A big part of how happy we are depends on our mindset, the habits we practice, and the way we live each day. These are the ingredients to the happiness recipe.
-Positive emotions (E.g. Gratitude. Love. Amazement. Delight. Playfulness. Humor. Inspiration. Compassion. Hope. Creativity. Interest. Excitement. Enjoyment. Calm)
-Strengths and Interests (The things we’re good at, we like to do and our good qualities)
-Good Relationships (Make us feel like we have a sense of belonging, and learn how to express emotions, show gratitude, use empathy, and kindness)
-Finding Meaning and Purpose in Life (Note: Making a mark, and knowing how you want to be remembered in the future. E.g. Making a Difference, Helping Others)
-Achievements/Victories (A sense of never giving up, and doing your best
Procedure: Mix them all together and you have happiness 🙂
Happiness is more than a yellow smiley face, it’s a feeling when we’re truly enjoying life and we’re making the best out of it. Happy people live longer, live to become successful, are healthier and have healthy relationships with others.
